What made Reagan so great?

He cut and ran from Lebanon, raised taxes, and negotiated with a terrorist.

I have heard that exact phrase several times over the last week. Which liberal website did your new talking points show up on first?

Greenspan Commission. And good job dodging the question.

Reagan:
*defeated communism - without military force

*prompted the fall of the Berlin Wall

*won the cold war

*helped a poor US economy rebound. Reagan's recovery included major job creation and a decline in the inflation rate.

*appointed the first woman to the Supreme Court

*strengthened the US military

*fired a bunch of whiny union air traffic controller goons

*got both political parties to work together on key legislation

*was an inspiring leader that the US people trusted, revered, and believed. Reagan believed in and preached the greatness of the US more than any other president in decades.

The lowest inflatation rate in the last five years of the 70's was 5.75.

In 1980, the rate of inflation was 13.6% - the highest year in US history.

It was 4.1% for 1988, his last year in office, with the lowest year being 1986 at 1.9%.

My favorite moment in Reagan history was when he said trees cause more pollution than trees.
